Art Zeum was a kid friendly interactive portion of the Telfair Museum in Savannah. What was really neat about it, was aside from exploring “What is Art?” they also covered a lot of ‘artistic’ information about Savannah, the city. That was a lot of fun because the kids actually could see things on our travels that had been explained to them in the museum! |
In the block sections they had blocks that mimics architecture around the city. You could build actual city buildings! |
Other cool things that were hands on here included “How to read a robe” that talked about symbolism in different cultures. A really fun thing the kids did was a huge magnetic wall that was like a super magnet. They used household items to create art. There were also various high tech gizmos that made really cool art of you just standing, or moving, and a self portrait exhibit from kids in grades 3-5. |
