The rides were amazing! You can see it all on Audrey’s face!! We were at different stations, so more photos are coming of Malena and Spencer from our friends cameras. |
Once the dogs returned from the run they were given a ‘drink’ of chicken and water and a little kibble. Sled dogs use more than 10,000 calories a day! They eat a diet of high protein and fat. Believe me, they expend every bit of that energy pulling sleds. |
They really seemed to enjoy this mixture! |
If anyone has the chance to go on an excursion like this, I highly recommend it. These people not only gave a great history of dog sledding and a hands on opportunity that cannot be duplicated, but, also, you can tell they had a genuine love for these dogs. This love was reciprocal.
