As you may, or may not, know...my mom was visiting from out of town. She comes every year, just in time for a big ‘allergy’ attack—but, it doesn’t stop us! We PLANTED, and PLANTED! |
This is a big pot made by Guy Wolff for Audrey’s birthday. It used to have cactus in it—but we put miniatures in it!! Above and to the right: That is my herb garden this year. Rosemary, various forms of basil, dill and parsley all planted next to my grill!! |
This was project number two...the ‘homemade Topsy Turvey’ tomato planter. Well, it wasn’t as easy as we thought it would be. But, in the end, it turned out okay—except for one minor glitch! Okay, maybe two. Putting a hole in the bottom of the bucket was pretty easy...getting the plant through...not so easy!! I came up with an ingenious idea *if I do say so myself* |

Okay, the short version is, poke a hole, push it through! |
However, pushing it through was so much harder than it looked! Then (this is where I had the brilliant idea) I thought to wrap the stem in plastic wrap. No applause needed. I know, sheer brilliance. Then, it went much smoother...as you can see... |
Now, if you looked ahead and you didn’t read the captions, you may have thought this was brilliance— putting marigolds on top like icing on a cake— just made the pot look that much more fabulous! To the right, you can see how the somewhat tattered tomato plant looks— not to worry— sun and water... |
This is so NOT on the info-mercial! Hello! Of course, the plant is going to grow upright toward the sun!! DUH! So, we are sticking with it, and we are going to see if when it starts to get fruit maybe it will go back down toward the ground? Maaaayyybeeee? Should we take a poll?? |
