Text Box: Okay. Generally, I don’t go on political rants very often… I have largely accepted the human population is often hypocritical, greedy, and stupid. However, when you see one action that denotes all three of these in one venue...and the target is wildlife...I have just got to say something. As you may or may not be aware, the grey wolf was an endangered species. Those Mom’s from my generation may recall the school projects “Save the...whale, grey wolf, red fox...etc.” I still have all my posters. Doesn’t everyone? The grey wolf population is now around 1,500 in the areas of Wyoming, Utah and Idaho. This is largely due to the fact that in the 1980’s human intervention reintroduced the species to that region. Now, (this is the stupid, hypocritical and greedy part) the makers of laws in this country have put forth a ‘sketchy’ law that allows the killing of wolves again. Okay, if I was a farmer who had calves and lambs as my livelihood ravaged by wolves that is one thing. The killing our government put forth into law is allowing people to basically trophy hunt this species. And, all I can picture is some fat Politian paying big money to have some lacky track this wolf through his world so he can have a head on the wall or a rug on the floor. They already have groups who arrange wolf hunting trips. I don’t know what we can do about it. If anyone out there has any ideas, let me know! It just makes me crazy when people can work for 30 years to build up a species from extinction— using our tax dollars I might add— only to tear it down to nothing again. Text Box: “Limpy” was a famous wolf in this country. He was a member of the famous Druid pack. He had a limp because of a fight when he was a pup. Now, that is a kill a hunter can be proud of.
